Meng Suhe, President of the Chinese Society for Food Science and Technology, pointed out that under the epidemic, the market has released huge demand for convenient food, and the advantages of convenient food industry have changed rapidly, forming a well-accumulated emergency capacity and strong production capacity.
The 2019-2020 Innovation Trend of China's Convenience Food Industry, released by the convenience Food 2020 Conference, points out that China's convenience food innovation as a whole shows a general trend of health, safety and characteristics, and the convenience food industry has also become one of the few food industries unaffected by the epidemic. According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the operating income of convenience food manufacturers above the national scale reached 137.15 billion yuan, up by 4.7% year-on-year. The total profit reached 8.75 billion yuan, up 12.8% year-on-year.
In the field of traditional instant noodles, various indicators are performing well. According to the data, the main business revenue of 22 major instant noodle companies increased by 7.01% year-on-year in 2019. Output increased by 3.18% year on year. In the first half of 2020, China's instant noodle market sales grew 11.5 percent year on year, and overall sales grew 5.6 percent year on year.
