Stick noodle are categorized into five basic varieties according to their thickness. The widest, at 6mm, is known as extra-wide noodles or jade belt noodles; those at 3mm are called large wide noodles; at 2mm, they are small wide noodles; at 1.5mm, they are thin noodles; and those at 1mm thickness are referred to as whisker noodles or silver thread noodles.

Supermarkets and major retail outlets have specific requirements for the thickness specifications of noodle products. If the noodle-making machine produces noodles of varying thicknesses, resulting in inconsistent product quality, this is very detrimental to the packaging and sales of noodles. To ensure normal sales of noodles, let's understand how to solve the problem of uneven noodle thickness during the production of a noodle-making machine:

1. Ensure the quality of the flour used is good, as the gluten content in the flour is relatively low. When produced, it may be coarse or fine, which also greatly affects the toughness and elasticity of the stick noodles.

2. Check if there are any problems with the pressure roller part of the noodle press, ensure that the gap between the main machine's pressure rollers is uniform, adjust the pressure and gap of the pressure rollers to ensure the consistency of the noodles.

3. When there is a problem with the drying system of the fully automatic noodle machine, this situation also occurs because the moisture content of the noodles can affect the shape of the noodles. If the moisture content is high, the weight of the noodles will increase, and excessive stretching will occur during the noodle hanging process, causing changes in the thickness of the noodles.

4. The noodle cutter has malfunctioned, causing the hanging noodles to deform during pressing, resulting in uneven thickness. As the noodle cutter is the main component of the cutting and forming machine, if the teeth of the cutter roller are not deeply engaged, there will be a situation of strip merging. The surface of the teeth roller is not smooth, and the cut noodles will have burrs. If the tightness of the noodle comb is not enough, impurities will accumulate in the teeth groove of the noodle cutter, affecting the smoothness of the noodles and also causing strip hanging. So it is necessary to conduct regular inspections and make corresponding repairs and maintenance based on the cause of the malfunction.
